Adult social care managers play a critical role in ensuring that services can completely meet the needs and goals of persons who use them. Through adequate training we make sure managers can gain industry knowledge to providing person-centered care in the face of rising demand.

This certificate establishes the minimal standards for those who manage adult care and support services in England. It also verifies that people pursuing the Leader in Adult Care Apprenticeship Standard have the necessary skills.

The RQF Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Adult Care recognises the knowledge, skills, and behaviours required to manage governance and regulatory procedures, person-centered practise for positive outcomes, resources, safeguarding, protection, and risk in the adult care setting. Communication skills, partnerships and teamwork, professional growth, supervision and performance management, as well as self-management and decision-making, are all recognised.

This qualification is for learners who are already in a management position in adult care and are responsible for managing teams and/or projects in order to achieve operational or departmental goals and objectives as part of the organization’s strategy. Learners pursuing this qualification may be able to work in the following positions:

  • Managers of residential services
  • Assistant managers of residential services
  • Assistant managers
  • Senior care workers
  • Day service managers
  • Day service assistant managers
  • Managers of domiciliary services
